Discover the highlights of Abu Dhabi, capital of the Emirates, known as the Arabian Jewel. Jebel Ali Port, the biggest man-made port in the world is one of the landmarks that we pass on the way to Abu Dhabi. On arrival, the first destination is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. We then continue to visit the Sheikh Zayed Centre to get a glimpse into the private life of H.H. Sheikh Zayed, who is often referred as “The Father of the UAE”. Our next stop is the Heritage Village where we are taken to the past to explore the life before oil was discovered. A drive along the beautiful Corniche and Saadiyat Island, future home of The Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and others, will bring you to Yas-Island. Here we will have a final photo-stop near the Ferrari World before dropping at Abu Dhabi Hotel.
Dress Code for the Mosque: Loose long trousers or long skirts & long sleeves to ankle/wrist. No shorts for men, no tight & transparent clothing. Women must cover their head with a scarf hence we suggest to bring it along. After the tour, check in at Abu Dhabi Hotel of choice.
Start your tour with a visit to Souk Madinat Jumeirah, a beautiful recreation of an Arabian style market place. After a quick stop at the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel your drive continues to Palm Jumeirah, a fully reclaimed, palm shaped island that is home to the magnificent Atlantis, The Palm. The next is in Dubai Marina, the largest man-made marina in the world, where you can take pictures of luxury yachts and the modern high-rise buildings and their unique architecture. Our tour continues with a photo-stop at Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski slope in the region. Our final stop at the base of what is currently the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Here you have time to admire the Dubai Fountain, a spectacle of lights and sound and one of the world’s largest performing fountains.
This tour will take you to Sharjah, the neighboring emirate of Dubai, also known as the ‘Pearl of the Gulf’. We start with a photo-stop at the magnificent Al Noor Mosque on Al Buhaira Corniche and proceed to the largest mosque in Sharjah, the King Faisal Mosque. We then visit the Islamic Civilization Museum, celebrating Islamic contribution to the World Heritage. We drive to Sharjah’s ‘Old Town’. After a stroll through the restored traditional market Souk Al Arsa, visit Sharjah Heritage museum for a glimpse of a traditional family home and typical Arabian Gulf architecture. Before returning, you have time to explore Souk Al Markazi - a treasure trove of carpets, jewellery and handicrafts.
Indulge in all the local flavors Dubai’s food has to offer during our walking-restaurant tour. Keep your tummies ready to kick start with some Syrian chickpea falafel balls and cheese manakish, a kind of Arabic pizza, mainly eaten for breakfast. After walking to our next venue, you will taste the traditional lentil soup, often eaten after breaking the fast in Ramadan with fresh, sour lemon juice and crunchy bread flakes. Then it’s time to enjoy your main dish: samples of an Arabic grill plate served with Arabic salad and hot Arabic “khubz” which is bread. Try “maskouf” a grilled fish that origins from the sweet water rivers of Iraq. Get a taste of Yemeni food from “Mandhi”. Traditionally the chicken is slowly cooked to make it very tender and delicious when served over aromatic rice. The last stop will be in a pastry shop where you can satisfy your sweet tooth with ‘mash’ – the Syrian ice cream prepared with pistachios and rose water. Try also the various kinds of rich baklava together with a cup of Arabic coffee with a note of Cardamom to finish your local food experience.
